About me

Hi I’m Callum, a quality engineer in London!

I’m a software tester, quality engineer and quality coach, helping teams to build better software through practical, human centred quality practices.

I speak, write, and share insights on testing, quality engineering and building inclusive engineering cultures.

I’ve been working in software quality for over 17 years, getting hands on with everything from exploratory testing, automation to quality engineering and coaching. Along the way, I’ve championed quality as a mindset rather than a process.

What I do

I develop pragmatic and scalable quality strategies for start up and scale up engineering organisations.

My approach focuses on pragmatism, working to good enough and prioritising meaningful outcomes over chasing perfection.

As a Quality Coach and Staff-level engineer, I mentor leaders and teams, facilitate workshops and build capability frameworks that foster sustainable cultural change.

Speaking & Workshops

I’m an experienced international and keynote conference speaker covering a wide range of technical and strategic topics:

  • Quality engineering
  • Quality coaching practices
  • Workshops to introduce testing tooling
  • Diversity, inclusion and visibility in tech
  • Creative analogies from gaming to explain testing
